Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By creating an account on RelationChart, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the service.

These terms constitute a binding agreement between you and Westbye Insights, a sole proprietorship registered in Norway.

2. What RelationChart Is

RelationChart is a personal journaling and visualization tool for reflecting on your social relationships. It allows you to journal stories, assess personalities, and visualize relationship dynamics.

RelationChart is not a substitute for professional advice. It is not a therapeutic tool, a diagnostic instrument, or a counseling service. The insights, visualizations, and any AI-generated analysis provided by the service are for personal reflection only. You should not rely on RelationChart to make decisions about your relationships, mental health, or wellbeing.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information when creating your account. You may not create accounts for other people without their knowledge or consent.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Your Content

You retain full ownership of all content you create in RelationChart — including memos, personality assessments, relationship graphs, and journal entries.

You grant Westbye Insights a limited, non-exclusive license to store, display, and process your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not access, review, or use your content for any other purpose.

You are solely responsible for the content you create, including any information you record about other people. RelationChart stores this content privately in your account, but if you choose to export, share, or disclose it outside the service, you bear full responsibility for the consequences.

5. AI Analysis and Third-Party API Keys

RelationChart offers optional AI analysis features that require you to provide your own API key from a third-party language model provider (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic).

By using this feature, you acknowledge that:

• You are establishing a direct relationship with the LLM provider, governed by their terms of service.
• You control which data is included in any AI analysis request. RelationChart provides the interface, but you initiate and authorize each request. Before any data is sent, you will be shown a summary of the data to be transmitted and must confirm the request.
• Data you choose to analyze is sent from your browser to the LLM provider. RelationChart does not intermediate, log, or store this data.
• RelationChart is not responsible for how the LLM provider processes your data, the quality or accuracy of AI-generated output, or any costs incurred through your use of the API key.
• AI-generated output is not a professional assessment of any kind. It reflects patterns in the data you provided and the behavior of a third-party language model. You should not treat it as psychological, therapeutic, or diagnostic advice.
• You are responsible for securing your API key and for any charges incurred through its use.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use RelationChart to harass, stalk, or harm another person.
• Attempt to access another user's data or account.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the service beyond your own account data.
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to interact with the service.
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Norwegian law:

Westbye Insights provides RelationChart on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind — whether express, implied, or statutory — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Westbye Insights is not liable for:

• Any decisions you make based on content, visualizations, or AI-generated analysis in RelationChart.
• Damage to personal relationships arising from your use of the service.
• Loss of data due to service interruptions, bugs, or technical failures, except where caused by gross negligence.
• Any actions taken by third-party LLM providers you connect to via your own API key.
• Indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages of any kind.

Total aggregate liability for any claim arising from or related to the service is limited to the amount you have paid Westbye Insights in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or NOK 500, whichever is greater.

Note: Norwegian consumer protection law (forbrukerkjøpsloven, angrerettloven) provides certain mandatory rights that cannot be contractually waived. Nothing in these terms overrides those rights.

8. Service Availability

RelationChart is provided as a free service. We make no guarantees regarding uptime, availability, or continuity of the service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service — in whole or in part — at any time, with or without notice.

If we permanently discontinue the service, we will make reasonable efforts to give you at least 30 days' notice and an opportunity to export your data.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Any disputes arising from or related to these terms or your use of RelationChart shall be resolved in the courts of Norway.
